The 艺术 Department offers students three majors: 艺术 历史 and Visual Studies, 视觉通讯, 和艺术, which includes four different emphases: General 艺术, 艺术工作室, 插图/新照片, and Photography/Digital Media.

From tactile to technical mediums, students learn the elements and principles of the visual arts and communication. Critical thinking skills are also developed, equipping graduates to view their work in a broader historical, cultural and spiritual context. Graduates of our program are prepared to begin advanced study or work professionally in art and design.

For students both during the time in the program and after graduation, the 艺术 Department’s goals for them include:

1. Acquaint students with the fundamental elements and principles of the visual arts and design.

3. Encourage application of skills in a manner that engages contemporary culture.
4. 培养文化素养 through exposure to art history and critical theory.
5. Encourage students’ exploration of the spiritual nature of art and design as an expression of their faith. The curriculum provides training in studio arts, 数字媒体, visual communication and art history, and aims to prepare students for both professional practice and advanced study.
